British Literature first vocab

Obsolete - No longer produced or used; out of date.

Philistine - A
 person who is hostile or indifferent to culture and the arts, or who has no understanding of them.
 
Meticulous - Showing great attention to detail, also very careful and precise.

Officious - Assertive of authority in an annoyingly domineering way, especially with regard to petty or trivial matters.

Peruse - Read (something), typically in a thorough or careful way.

Mitigate - Make less severe, serious, or painful.

Perfidy - Deceitfulness; untrustworthiness.

Morose - Sullen and ill-tempered.
